Hi, my name’s Emma (she/her)

I am a mixed media artist and a registered Occupational Therapist (The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) | (hcpc-uk.org). I am passionate about creativity and encouraging everyone to ‘have a go’ at art and making things. Being with people and enabling them to feel a sense of accomplishment and fun through the creative process is what brings me happiness. My philosophy revolves around art being accessible to all. In my practice as a workshop facilitator, no one is ‘bad’ at art and I take time to ensure everyone participating is reassured and encouraged. All too often I hear people say ‘I can’t draw’ or ‘I’m really bad at art’. It is my belief there is an inner child in us all and that art can help all of us to find joy, get silly and have fun.

My workshops are spaces to create collaborative art that I later professionally enhance at my studio so that you have something that represents your community.  Your space becomes your own gallery and your art depicts what is meaningful and important to you and your community.

I have worked as an Occupational Therapist since 2011 in various healthcare settings. In 2022 I went to art school at the University for the Creative Arts | University for the Creative Arts (uca.ac.uk) and studied Visual Communications. I am now undertaking a Masters Degree in the same discipline with the aim of specialising in community based arts; to make art with people for their communities.

ART&Mynds was created so that I can combine my love of art with my values and skills as an Occupational Therapist. I believe art can reach the hearts and minds of all individuals and that art is for everyone.

I volunteer for Pets as Therapy and am happy to bring my beautiful whippet Daisy along to your organisation.
